Growing up in Kansas, I've always been fascinated by the relationship between nature and industrialization, and how it seems as though there is this constant battle between which one will outgrow the other. In the fall of 2012, I began photographing textures found in nature as well as skyscrapers in Kansas City and Chicago. I paired the opposing negatives together in the darkroom to create double exposures to abstract the forms and visually show the struggle nature and industrialization have between each other.
